Banky W, Chidinma, Nathaniel Bassey, other secular artistes turned gospel musicians
Secular music is typically appealing, profitable, and flashy. It encourages a lot a vices without filter and has a wide acceptance all over the world. In Nigeria some top musicians who used to sing secular music or at a point in their lives chose to serve God fully, switched from secular music they were known for, to gospel music.
It has helped boost careers of some of these musicians, while it’s been the other way round for some others. Some of these musicians also chose to go into gospel music at the peak of their careers

It didn’t take her long to release her hit singles like: Jankoliko, Emini Bola and then Kedike. She became a force to be reckoned with.
Chidinma was doing well as a pop singer with many hit songs and awards before she shocked her followers in May 2021 asking them to call her Mummy G.O or Endtime Soldier. She stated that the old Chidimma had turned a new leaf after receiving summons from God.
She highlighted that time is of the essence and that God told her to use her singing gift to win souls, noting that the devil has been winning for far too long. Chidinma shared how she had a spiritual encounter with God and that he has called her to use her gifts for his purposes.
Under this new rebrand, she dropped her first official gospel song, titled Jehovah Overdo on her 30th birthday, following the new revelation. She is now signed to the gospel record label Eeezee Concept.
