Happy Independence Day!
Today makes it sixty-one years since Nigeria’s independence. On this conspicuous day, we remember the labours of our heroes past and the prices they had to pay for Nigeria’s independence.
To those who lost lives, hands and feet; to those who lost families; to those who stood against the injustice of man’s inhumanity to man; to those who clipped the wings of imperialism, we say a huge thank you!
Thank you for helping us open our eyes to a Nigeria where our lips are not sealed together on our cocoa farms, a Nigeria where laws are not made by foreigners who don’t know the least thing about us.
Today, we raise our glasses in celebration of the Anthony Enahoros, the Obafemi Awolowos, the Tafawa Balewas and the Nnamdi Azikwes.
Cheers to freedom, cheers to life!
